Meet the Certification Board

The JCube Certification Board is the body providing the structural framework in credentialing practitioners in Data Science, Machine Learning, Digital Science and Finance in Singapore and Asia. It comprises highly qualified individuals from both Academia, Research and Industry with over decades of experience in consulting, curriculum design, teaching and implementation of Data Driven, A.I. and Digital solutions to thousands of clients and organizations, particularly in Asia. Headed by 2 distinguished academia, namely Professor Jeremy Goh (SMU) and Professor Jerry Cao (Shenzhen University), the board ensures that certification and training standards remain high and relevant and that every certified individual will be well equipped to either advance their careers in their existing jobs or find new opportunities in digital jobs at top organizations such as Google, Tesla, Mckinsey, P & G, Certis, amongst others.

To maintain their certification, certified individuals will be required to continue to update their knowledge, participate in ongoing professional development, demonstrate that they are improving to consistently meet standards of professionalism required by hiring organizations in Asia and all around the world.

Professor Jeremy Goh
Chairman, Certification Board, JCube Institute

Dr. Jeremy Goh is Associate Professor of Finance (Tenured) at Singapore Management University (SMU)’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business. He was the longest serving Chairman of SMU Faculty Senate. He is also the founding faculty member, former Associate Dean and the Head of the Finance group. He developed and served as coordinator of the PhD in finance program in the past. He is currently Visiting Professor in Lingnan College, National Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. He was visiting Reader-in-finance at the Cass Business School, City University of London, UK. Professor Goh previously held professorial positions at Drexel University, Philadelphia; the University of South Florida, Tampa; Chapman University, California; and Washington University, St. Louis, USA. He received his Masters of Arts in Economics, Masters of Science in Business Administration, and Ph.D. in Finance from Washington University, St. Louis, USA.

Professor Goh’s primary research areas of interest include corporate finance and governance. He has published numerous academic articles in prestigious journals such as The Journal of Finance, Journal of Business, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Financial Research, and Financial Analysts Journal. He has won several excellence research awards and serve as Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Research. In addition, he has contributed significantly in industry related research and is the developer of the Singapore Corporate Governance Index which has been used as a basis for the selection criteria for various major corporate awards in Singapore. He also works with local regulators such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and industry organizations such as the Securities Investors Association, Singapore (SIAS), Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, and the Singapore Institute of Directors. He was also the former Assistant Honorary Treasurer and Secretary of SIAS.

Professor Goh is also involved in community service and is the creator and champion of the Citi-SMU Financial Literacy program which is a social enterprise that aims to advance financial education for young adults in Singapore. He has served in the steering committee for MyMoney, which is an outreach program fronted by the MAS. He is also currently an Independent Director in Samsung Reinsurance, Pte. Ltd., Singapore.

Professor Jerry Xiaping Cao
Member, Certification Board, JCube Institute

Dr. Jerry Xiaping Cao is Professor of Finance at College of Economics, Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China. He was Professor and Dean of Southern Science and Technology Research Institute of Finance, and also Assistant Dean in Lingnan College, National Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. He is also Director and lead in the MIT Guangzhou Innovation Centre. In 2016, Jerry was inducted as one of the overseas talents in the Hundred Talents Program of Sun Yat-sen University, China.

Professor Cao has previously held professorial positions at the Lee Kong Chiang School of Business, Singapore Management University. He was the Co-director, Asia Private Equity Institute, jointly established by Government of Singapore Investment Corporate and Singapore Management University. Jerry earned his PhD in Finance from Boston College, USA, and a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He graduated with a BSc in Economics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China.

Professor Cao’s primary research areas of interest include corporate finance and governance in the Chinese market. He has published numerous academic articles in prestigious journals such as The Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Banking and Finance. He has served as Special Issue Editor in the Pacific Basin Finance Journal and have also won many research excellence awards. Jerry is highly involved in industry practices. His research has been cited by high profile media such as the Wall Street Journal Business Weekly, The Economists, and The New York Times. He has consulted extensively with Chinese companies and is often invited to speak at high key events. He also offers commentaries on the economy and the financial markets in both international and Chinese TV stations. Jerry currently also serves as a board member in several companies in China.

Professor Cao taken time out to conduct public seminars on Financial Literacy events organized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Securities Investors Association, Singapore.

Dr. Jack Hong
Member, Certification Board, JCube Institute

Co-founder of Research Room, an AI consulting and development outfit that delivers decision-making capabilities for complex use-cases, Dr. Hong specializes in developing prediction and decision engines with the use of alternative data. Some of his notable works include omni-channel content personalization systems, manpower resource optimization using deep reinforcement learning, real estate valuation engines, and highly personalized portfolio strategies using applied artificial intelligence (AI).

Dr. Hong is AI Technology Consultant at Certis Group, Data Science Advisor at Vertex Holdings, advising on Human Conversational AI, Predictive Resource Allocation, Super-Intelligence in Natural Language Capabilities in Finance.  He is also CEO of Integrum Global.  Dr. Hong is concurrently an adjunct faculty with the Singapore Management University (SMU), and has been actively teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes since 2015. He is the lead instructor for the highly acclaimed “Leading Digital Transformation” course for MBA students.

Dr. Ke Jinghao
Member, Certification Board, JCube Institute

Dr. Ke has led and managed teams to design, construct and maintain corporate governance indices with Singapore Management University (SMU)’s Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics. He also participated in business consulting and data analytics projects for SMEs through the UOB-SMU Asian Enterprise Institute. He is concurrently adjunct faculty with SMU and he develops course syllabus and instructs Finance and International Finance at the Undergraduate level. Dr. Ke is a full-stack analytics programmer in Python and has also worked with various analytics stacks such as R, SAS, Microsoft Analytics and Stata. Dr. Ke received his Ph.D. in Business (Finance) from SMU in 2015 with his research dissertation and interests in corporate finance, incentives design, social networks, corporate governance and natural language programming.
